Following my second diagnosis, and the surgery required to remove the cancer, I have been ‘living flat’ on one side. An established member of the one-titty-committee since March 2017.
I won’t lie, I was miffed about the non-negotiable removal of my breast reconstruction and it continues to piss me off at times but my God I’ve come such a long way. There are far more deserving things of my time and energy than focusing on a body insecurity, and I’ve come to learn how truly precious those resources are. I am determined to waste neither!
And in any case I am still #allwoman. I truly believe that femininity is an ENERGY. Not hair, not boobs or anything else physical. So to all my breast cancer ladies, whatever your reconstruction journey, believe me we’ve still got it.
